Variety, the Children’s Charity, hosted – for the second year – its prestigious black tie dinner, the “Legends of Industry Awards” at the Hilton Hotel, Manchester, on Thursday, 1st November 2012.
Variety, the Children’s Charity, recognises that there are many unsung leading ladies and gentlemen who have surpassed all expectations in their chosen fields of business and industry.
The recipients of our “Legends of Industry” Award 2012 were (in alphabetical order): –
Iqbal Ahmed OBE (Seamark), Duncan Bannatyne OBE (The Bannatyne Group), Ricky Hatton MBE, John Nichols (Nichols PLC), Mike Oglesby CBE DL (Bruntwood Estates), Trevor Sorbie MBE (Trevor Sorbie Hairdressing), Mike Sweeney (Broadcasting), Liz Taylor (Taylor Lynn Corporation Limited), William Roache OBE (Television)
The Award Ceremony was hosted by John Stapleton, TV Presenter from Daybreak and was followed by fantastic entertainment from television’s top impressionist, Jon Culshaw, and music from Asa Murphy. The most senior person of Variety, the children’s charity, the Chief Barker, Mr Keith Andrews presented the recipients with their “Legends of Industry Award.”
All funds raised on the night will benefit sick, disabled and disadvantaged children in the North West region.
Bellagio Global donated a Paccioni Centum of which Award winner Duncan Babbatyne was the winning bidder
