Coleen led a flamboyant night of revels which included line-dancing, can can girls and a hoe-down as well as star performances from her talented family.
And Coleen proved she was in the mood for more than line-dancing – getting on stage to duet with her sister Linda Nolan on stage to The Nolans’ biggest 80s pop hit, as well as an emotional duet with her 11-year-old daughter Ciara to Shania Twain’s You’re Still The One.
Coleen and hubby Ray Fensome, dressed as a chap-wearing cowboy, were joined by a host of their star pals as well as a packed room of guests at The Point at Old Trafford who turned out in wacky outfits.
Coleen said: “We can’t thank everyone enough for making such a great effort tonight. It means so much to us and for the charity.”
Atomic Kitten star Liz McClarnon was kitted out as a Western-style showgirl, while her boyfriend Ryan O’Neill was a traditional cowboy.
Liz told The Diary she didn’t have to look too far for her flirty black and red number. It was one of her Atomic Kitten stage outfits!
Meanwhile Emmerdale star Gemma Oaten dressed as Pocahontas in a beige minidress.
She said: “It was a case of trawling the internet for something last minute!”
The night ended with a set from Coleen’s son Shane Richie Junior and his band, after earlier star turns from X Factor star Carolynne Poole, West End singer Nick Newbould and a Dolly Parton tribute act.
The event helped to raise vital funds for the Sara’s Hope Foundation, of which Coleen and Ray are patrons.
The charity was set up by the family of teenage Sara Hoburn after she lost her brave battle with cancer – to support other families of children with cancer with respite breaks to Crete.
It’s a charity that has particular resonance for the Nolans, who are supporting sister Bernie who is battling breast cancer.
Linda said: “With what we have been going through with Bernie, the outpouring of support has been what gets us all through at times like this.
“And that is what is great with the Sara’s Hope charity – it shows that out of sadness comes hope.”
